In downtown St. Petersburg, FL, you’ll find a bustling multi-story apartment complex teeming with USF students, enjoying an upscale alternative to dorm life. The Wayland by Common is a thoughtfully designed property built to the highest standards, offering upscale touches and luxury amenities. The owners recently partnered with locally-based Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI) to revamp their entire security system, including surveillance solutions and access control.
The surveillance solutions package includes four 32 channel 4K NVRs, recording footage from an extensive array of cameras strategically located to cover every inch of the complex. STI replaced 75 turret style cameras on the interior, with 4k resolution and traditional IR capabilities. These IP cameras cover eleven residence floors, along with common areas on the ground floor, such as fitness facilities and resident lounges.
To cover the perimeter of the property, STI installed 29 bullet style cameras with 24/7 color technology to capture color footage, even in night vision mode. These 4K IP cameras monitor all exterior areas, including the enclosed private parking garage and all points of entry. They also record activities in high risk areas, such as the pool, dog park, and fire pit. Such comprehensive coverage offers protection to the establishment and residents alike.
Although all of the cameras were new and offer the latest technology, STI was able to complete the installation primarily using The Wayland’s existing infrastructure. By avoiding the installation of all new cable, STI was able save their client money and design the optimum surveillance solution within their budget.
