The Manasota Christian Chapel in Bradenton, FL walks the thin line that most religious
organizations face, which is to offer a welcoming environment that is also safe and secure.
While all are welcome during the chapel’s services and operating hours, there was a recent
trend of individuals sleeping outside the church’s entryways. In order to monitor this activity
and ensure these members of the community were not unduly exposed to the elements, the
church partnered with Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI) to implement a video surveillance system.
A 16 channel H.265 4K DVR now records footage from a variety of cameras throughout the
property. Six 4K turret style cameras with 2.8mm fixed lenses were installed for broad views of
the interior common areas, including the youth area, kitchen, hallway, lobby, and chapel.
Cameras were added at both of the entrances, one with a portico and another with a drive up
porte-cochère. These bullet style cameras are equipped with 3.6mm lenses and 24/7 color
technology, capturing color footage around the clock, even in night vision mode. Eight similar
cameras were placed around the exterior of the building, including coverage of the parking lot
and front drive. As part of the installation, STI pulled out the existing, outdated cable followed
by sixteen runs of all new cable.
All owners and operators have unique reasons to secure and monitor their properties. Even
those with an open door policy can benefit from the surveillance solutions offered by
Surveillance Technology. The team at STI will work with you to determine the ideal way to offer
a safe but inviting environment for the communities you serve.
