In Bradenton, FL, River Club Plaza is a retail property owned by CASTO and anchored by a Walmart Supercenter. The plaza houses twenty one stores in two buildings and was recently in need of a comprehensive surveillance solution, for which they selected Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI).
In the smaller of the two buildings, STI installed a 4 channel H.265 4K DVR to support two new 24/7 color retail store security cameras, which provide ambient light by LED and capture high-quality color footage, even in night vision mode. These cameras monitor the rear of the property, including the trash area to prevent unauthorized dumping, along with the walkway and parking areas.
The larger building is equipped with its own 8 channel H.265 4K DVR and six retail store security cameras covering similar areas, with varifocal lenses to zoom in for tight views. Exhaustive video coverage of all areas can be difficult to achieve on properties with large awnings, which often obstruct the view of cameras. In this case, STI was able to take advantage of the relative placement of the structures to capture broader views of one building, with cameras strategically placed on the other.
With a quickly growing portfolio of 150 properties, CASTO has been questioning convention in the real estate industry since 1926. Like Surveillance Technology, they are always looking for new and better solutions to their customers’ needs. This mindset of innovative problem-solving has contributed to an effective partnership between these Tampa Bay service providers.
