Plant City, FL November 2020
Amid ever-changing restrictions imposed by the Governor on certain facilities due to COVID-19, granting access to the appropriate visitors has never been more important. In November of 2020, the experts at Tampa-based Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI) installed a custom surveillance and access control package for Community Care Center (CCC). This project is an excellent example of STI’s ability to design individual plans to meet unique needs, while also leveraging past success. CCC is one of several similar properties owned by a parent organization which have received recent upgrades from STI.
Replicating a solution that has proved critical at similar properties, STI installed an access control system with a two-way video door phone. CCC staff can see and speak with visitors approaching their points of entry, and a touch-screen button can be used on their two 7″ monitors to provide access to guests. A 28” monitor is housed in the administration office, and two nurses’ stations have additional 22” monitors. These expansion stations empower medical staff to monitor and quickly make appropriate access decisions without leaving their critical posts in patient care areas.
A 16 channel H.265 4K DVR records video surveillance from sixteen cameras selected for their specific capabilities. Six bullet style 4K cameras were used outdoors with varifocal motorized zoom lenses. Eight turrets were added to provide 4K resolution from 2.8mm fixed lenses, ideal for broad views of the hallways and common areas. Lastly, two turret style 4K cameras with 2.7mm – 13mm motorized, autofocus lenses were installed for tight shots of areas warranting detailed visual surveillance.
Care providers have a unique obligation to remain focused on their patients, yet that focus can take the shape of face-to-face interaction, monitoring a variety of areas in real time, and managing compliant visitation schedules. A partnership with Surveillance Technology, Inc. enables facilities like Community Care Center to provide this level of comprehensive care.
