Surveillance Technology Incorporated’s latest installation of a CCTV security camera system in Brandon was completed at the new Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County ReStore in Brandon. Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1976 and is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing around the world. In Hillsborough County alone, they have renovated or built over 200 homes.
Habitat for Humanity’s concept of a home improvement thrift store provides residents of Hillsborough County the opportunity to purchase new and gently used appliances, building materials, light fixtures, and more for a fraction of regular retail. Habitat for Humanity will use the proceeds from the ReStore to fund its homebuilding program for low-income families and individuals in need. Those who qualify for their program are not required to make a down payment, but most invest in their new home with sweat equity hours. These hours can be served building their home as well as by volunteering at Habitat for Humanity ReStores.
With various entry points at this 15,000 square foot facility, it was of the utmost importance that a state-of-the-art surveillance system was installed prior to opening. Surveillance Technology Incorporated began the project by installing a 16-channel high definition Digital Video Recorder (DVR) capable of capturing up to 8 megapixel resolution. In order to securely monitor all areas, 11 cameras were mounted to cover parking areas, cash registers, entrance doors, loading docks as well as the warehouse and the retail showroom floor. These Tampa surveillance cameras are all 2.4 megapixel with motorized auto focus zoom lenses.
