Since 1973, Health Aid Company has been offering durable medical equipment and disposable medical supplies to Tampa Bay communities and across Florida.
Health Aid operates two retail locations and has been a long time customer of Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI). A decade ago, Surveillance Tech installed serial digital interface (SDI) technology for CCTV. Although it was cutting edge at the time, this technology was not moved forward by the industry and eventually risked obsolescence. Equipment capabilities have evolved in another direction, so it was time for STI to return and bring Health Aid’s surveillance solution up to current standards.
As part of an exterior security camera installation in Tampa, STI replaced the existing recorder with a 16 channel H.265 4K DVR and 16 cameras, covering exterior assets, all points of entry from the interior and exterior sides, and the retail area, which is open to the public. The six on the interior are traditional 4K IR CCTV cameras, while ten exterior units offer 24/7 color footage, even in night vision mode. As a bonus STI was able to utilize Heath Aids existing siamese cable reducing their technology investment without sacrificing image quality.
