Lake Cares Food Pantry
Mt. Dora, Lake County, FL (Feb 2021)
Lake Cares Food Pantry provides food and necessities to Lake County residents in need. Unfortunately, while staff and volunteers were focused on feeding school children on the weekends, distributing food for people experiencing homelessness, and filling the kitchens of newly built Habitat for Humanity homes, their own property was suffering losses. After a series of thefts of vehicle parts, Lake Cares reached out to Tampa-based Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI). STI is well-respected in Lake County and provides surveillance and access control solutions to several prominent organizations in Mount Dora where the food pantry is located.
Lake Cares needed someone to protect their perimeter, allowing them to continue their own good works. STI installed an 8 channel H.265 4K DVR, along with two 24/7 color cameras, which capture color footage even in night vision mode. Lake Cares can oversee their delivery trucks at the rear of the property with these cameras. There are three additional cameras providing tighter views of employee vehicle parking areas from three unique angles with 2.7mm – 13mm motorized, autofocus lenses. In addition to a surveillance solution, STI installed a video phone at the front and rear entrances of the building, enabling Lake Cares employees to see and speak to visitors before granting gentry.
Sadly, though not surprisingly, there were subsequent thefts of vehicle parts at the property. This time, however, Lake Cares was able to provide high quality footage of the event to the police. By partnering with Surveillance Technology, who strategically furnished the property with quality equipment, Lake Cares was empowered to protect its own interests, while remaining focused on assisting those who need their services.
