Treatment environments at Lakeside Neurologic are uniquely designed to meet the needs and enrich the lives of persons with traumatic brain injuries, neurologic injuries, and neuropsychiatric disorders. Patients from around the country and their families are drawn to the waterfront campus in Wauchula, FL, for sub-acute and adult post-acute rehabilitation, pediatric rehabilitation & education, and supported independent living. Offering such a wide array of services, and housing clients with numerous distinct needs, one universal necessity is quality surveillance.
In May, 2020, Lakeside Neurologic enlisted the help of Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI) to design a commercial video surveillance system to complement its large campus and diverse programs. Lakeside delivers the highest quality of services by assessing the individual needs of brain and neurologic injury survivors and their families. Likewise, Surveillance Technology provides the highest quality through a consultative approach to needs assessment and problem solving.
The office and administration buildings were in need of equipment upgrades and top-notch recording capabilities. Between the two, STI installed three 16 Channel H.265 4K DVRs, offering the latest and greatest in capacity and quality. Sixteen 4K HD cameras were added to the administration building to cover general and rehabilitation areas, the dining room, and exterior patios. Another office building received two bullet-style cameras on the sidewalks, with six additional turrets in fitness areas, hallways, meeting rooms, and an exterior entrance.
Eight additional cameras were placed in the Skilled Medical Rehabilitation Center to monitor all points of entry, hallways and porches. Another 16 Channel H.265 4K DVR was added in the vocational and occupational therapy center, including 14 cameras in the reception areas, classrooms, hallways and common areas. It is on top of this building where you’ll find the best views of the lake and the entire campus, captured in stunning clarity with a 4 megapixal PTZ camera. The camera extends a dizzying 25 feet in the air, with 23x optical motorized zoom to ensure not an inch of Lakeside’s property goes unseen.
The General Store is a resident favorite at Lakeside and now boasts its own 16 Channel H.265 4K DVR and five cameras overlooking the kitchen and eating areas. Why install a DVR capable of recording 16 feeds, for only 5 cameras? Surveillance Technology understands the value of having room to grow. By preparing Lakeside with extra capacity in strategic locations, STI has set them up for the seamless integration of future additions and evolutions in technology.
For patients needing neurorehabilitation and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation, Lakeside Neurologic serves as home for a season of life. The Dogwood and Birch dorms have a 16 Channel H.265 4K DVR of their own, with cameras in the meeting areas, kitchen, patios, hallways, main lobby & reception area. The many residential cabins, also named for trees, enjoy the same exceptional 4K video surveillance as the rest of the property. These 2 – 6 bedroom cabins have cameras covering their common living areas, dining spaces, hallways and exteriors. Naturally, there are no cameras or recording equipment in any bedrooms and bathrooms.
Over the course of several weeks in the Florida sun, and in the middle of a global pandemic, Surveillance Technology was pleased to equip Lakeside Neurologic with over sixty cameras, six state-of-the-art DVRs, and thousands of feet of cable. Patients and families come to Lakeside Neurologic from far and wide to enjoy a quality of life which includes security, community and meaningful pursuits. Surveillance Technology, Inc. is proud to have contributed to this goal.
