Party Liquors is Tampa Bay’s largest keg retailer and a longtime client of Surveillance Technology, Inc. STI installed their original analog system years ago, and had already upgraded one location when requested to upgrade Party Liquors’s Fowler Avenue location.
As part of the reformation, all cameras were upgraded to 4K resolution. Some were equipped with the latest 24/7 color technology, which captures color footage in night vision mode. Outdated analog DVRs were replace with three 16 channel H.265 4K DVRs. In addition to securing the perimeter, interior cameras were strategically placed to cover all general liquor isles, storage areas, and customer interaction areas. Varifocal lenses were used to provide close views of faces at the entrance door, and tight views on transactions at the registers.
The climate conditions vary from warm, moist cigar humidors to 25-degree beer coolers. Although the difference in temperatures at one location is uncommon, these conditions certainly aren’t considered extreme by Surveillance Technology’s standards. The cameras are IP65 rated for temperature and humidity and can function in environments as cold as 20 degrees below zero. The humidors and coolers did not present a challenge for STI’s equipment, but cheaper cameras wouldn’t work in these locations.
