Tampa, FL; October 2020
Top surveillance security company in Tampa, Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI) has been meeting the surveillance and access control needs of the Tampa Bay community for over 50 years; but they are practically newcomers compared to the Rosa Valdez Early Childhood Learning Center. This learning center has been operating in Old West Tampa since 1892. Rosa Valdez has not only maintained its distinction as a nationally accredited childcare center but has further set itself apart as a pioneer in breaking the poverty cycle through it’s Early Learning Laboratory, for adults seeking their degrees in early childhood education.
As a childcare provider in a low income, inner-city neighborhood, security is top of mind at the center. Locally owned STI was a natural partner in ensuring the school had a surveillance system as cutting edge as its education programs. The center’s existing surveillance system uses internet protocol. In the first phase of their work with STI, a 32 channel H.265 4K NVR was installed, capable of processing 320 MB of throughput per second; and a 16-port integrated Power of Ethernet (POE) switch was built in, to facilitate the exchange of both power and data simultaneously.
A total of seventeen cameras were installed 8 of which were connected directly to the integrated POE switch of the NVR, in order to free up bandwidth needed for the school’s important education work. Twelve IP turret style 4K cameras with 3.6 mm fixed lenses were used for broad interior views of the VPK building, main lobby, and hallways, in addition to one broad view of the property’s exterior entrance. The other five were IP bullet style 4K cameras with 3.6mm fixed lenses, offering multiple views of the playground and a broad view of the rear parking area.
Rosa Valdez Early Childhood Learning Center has set the standard for high quality in their industry in Tampa for over a century. Surveillance Technology is well on its way to doing the same.
