Four generations of owners at Walpole, Inc. have established the brand as a premier carrier in the Southeast. Founded in 1952, the trucking company maintains a long standard of excellence in hauling flour, feed, sugar, salt, lime, and coal. To protect their first-in-class fleet, Walpole recently partnered with Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI) to renovate their existing analog surveillance system, following a previous overhaul of their Okeechobee and Birmingham locations.
The company’s headquarters were upgraded to an IP system with two 4K DVRs featuring H.265 compression, strategically placed on the property. 8-megapixel cameras cover large portions of the property with excellent detail, including the tire area, mechanical shop, parking lots and wash bays. Each client and each property present unique needs that STI must meet. Because this location backs up to a railroad, a perimeter fence is not feasible. As a result, STI and the client have solved the security need through state-of-the-art surveillance capabilities. In one area of the property, a 5-megapixel camera sporting a 5 – 50 mm lens captures tight views of assets 300 feet away.
Walpole, Inc. boasts decades of safe driving, perseverance, and the best drivers in the trucking industry. They maintain immaculate equipment and meaningful certifications to reliably serve each client’s unique needs. In this way, they have a lot in common with Surveillance Technology. Both providers value long term relationships, including repeat business with some of their original clients. Staying true to their core principles, Walpole and STI have enjoyed a long heritage of excellence in the community by balancing technology & practicality.
