The Williams Landing Apartment community is designed with active seniors in mind. The private, gated complex recently contracted with Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI) for upgraded access control solutions, after their existing system was damaged by a lightning strike. STI replaced the telephone entry system for visitors and residents in the first phase of the project, and later updated the pedestrian access system, both with DoorKing products.
A thoughtfully designed access control solution is both effective for security and seamless for authorized users. Restricting entry is important, but should not come at the cost of convenience for residents and their guests. Surveillance Technology installed magnetic locks throughout the property which respond to each resident’s single fob for access around the complex. Their universal fob grants access through the pedestrian gate and into amenities areas, including the pools, fitness center, laundry and mail rooms, computer lab and restrooms.
Putting all of these devices on one unified platform also simplifies access control activities for property managers, who only need to maintain one database on one software system. Residents move easily throughout their community, enjoying the tranquility of their rural, wooded setting, while property management enjoys the convenience of the strategic approach employed by Surveillance Technology, Inc.
