Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI) serves clients across countless industries, which are typically unrelated to their own specialty – surveillance and access control. This client, Ditek Surge Protection, is a rare crossover, providing surge protection hardware and services, which can play a key role in any security or life safety system. STI recommends surge protection for every system, preferably at both ends of your connected network equipment, since network cabling provides a conductive path for electrical power surges.
Ditek also partners with Digital Watchdog, a provider of digital recorders, surveillance cameras, and management software. They wanted a company that could select the right products from Digital Watchdog’s offerings to design and install a custom solution. STI has experience with a wide variety of hardware brands, and was able to configure the curated products.
Outside Ditek’s property in Largo, FL, STI replaced and augmented their robust exterior security camera system Largo, which included a collection of IP cameras. Two 4K multi-lens 360° cameras covering the main entrance and executive parking were replaced, along with two 4K bullet cameras in the rear and one shooting a pond at the front of the property. A 4K turret was added at an exterior covered break area. Inside, eleven new IP bullet style cameras with 5 megapixel resolution were installed, to provide high resolution coverage on production areas. Ditek utilizes high speed robotics equipment, and it is therefore imperative for managers to monitor that operations are running smoothly and without incident. To accommodate this IP system, Surveillance Tech installed 3,000’ of CAT 6 cable.
