The Digital Video Recorder or DVR are the brains and storage appliance for CCTV security camera systems. With a CCTV system, each camera is directly connected to the DVR via a siamese cable. The cable transmits the video signal and also supplies power between the DVR and each camera. This technology does not utilize any of your network bandwidth unless you are actively logged into the DVR.
Our current digital video reorders are a 5 in 1 hybrid and can accommodate not only older analog cameras but today’s latest technologies including: CVI, TVI, AHD and even IP cameras at resolutions up to 4K all in one appliance. These DVR’s also have the capability of recording audio and utilize the latest H.265 compression when recording video footage which is 70% more efficient than digital video recorders using H.264 compression.
DVR’s are available in 4, 8 and 16 channel configurations and can accommodate multiple hard drives for storage both internal and externally allowing for several weeks of video storage.
