In the shadow of the Skyway Bridge, the Bayway Isles community sits like a well-kept secret. This idyllic community, nestled on the southern tip of Pinellas County, FL, consists of two islands that are home to nearly 200 families. Residents of single family homes, condos, and townhomes enjoy quiet walks on neighborhood streets and private views of sunsets over Boca Ciega Bay. The relaxed island lifestyle is made possible through secure access control, ensuring the exclusive entry of residents and their guests.
Technology at the guard house had become outdated, so Bayway Isles representatives upgraded their system with modern community security cameras St Petersburg installed by the local Tampa Bay experts at Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI). The entire system was upgraded to 4K IP technology, taking advantage of modern connectivity and flawless resolution. Two ColorMax Ultra bullet cameras were installed, offering color footage even in night vision mode. These cameras capture guard interactions with visitors and images of entering vehicles. A detailed view of departing vehicles from the rear is helpful for documenting the contents of a trailer or what they might be transporting off property.
A good distance from the guard house, there is a short pedestrian bridge. The view is somewhat obstructed, but the bridge is within property boundaries and therefore important to monitor. To augment the guards’ awareness of activity on this bridge, Surveillance Tech installed a 24/7 color bullet camera with a varifocal lens to provide tight views of anyone crossing the bridge, any time of day or night. This camera is hands down the best nighttime security camera, with a full array of AI-powered deterrent features, including flashing lights, sirens, and two-way audio. The cameras are programmed to recognize human and/or vehicle intrusion at whatever times make sense for the unique property.
In this case, the overall surveillance package designed by STI ensures no one enters Bayway Isles by any means without the awareness of the security team. Guards can view all footage from a 28” 4K monitor in the guard house. Community board members can also view the footage on their own devices with special software.
The guard house is now equipped with license plate readers to capture tag information from vehicles going in and out of the property. This information is used to create an indexable database of every vehicle that has been on the property. Authorized parties can search this record to pinpoint when any vehicle has been in Bayway Isles and for how long.
Safe communities don’t happen without planning ahead. Located adjacent to the famous St. Pete Beach with proximity to a university, Bayway Isles makes a conscious effort to reduce external pedestrian and vehicular traffic to preserve their tranquil atmosphere. Offering 24-hour entry protection allows residents to enjoy their sunny days and peaceful nights with privacy and peace of mind.
