In 1997, The Bailey Family Foundation was created to make post secondary education more widely available to scholars with proven financial need, academic achievements, and a dedication to serving their communities. The Foundation awards over $2 million a year, funding 500+ scholarships in many of the same Tampa Bay counties served by Surveillance Technology, Inc., which recently upgraded the Foundation’s commercial access control system.
While many of Surveillance Technology’s clients are looking for a more complex system with innovative capabilities, the Foundation’s request was deceptively simple – an entry system with just one button to call only the front desk. The prior call box was rather antiquated and featured a full keypad that was largely unnecessary. STI replaced this with a one-button DoorKing call box. The stainless steel box houses only a single button, clearly labeled as “Information”, which directly rings the receptionist.
The Foundation has distributed $36 million to date. Their Hope for Tomorrow program researches how limited scholarship funds can be most efficiently used. They are relentless in maximizing the effectiveness of what they offer the community. Surveillance Technology holds a similar commitment to excellence and innovative thinking among their core values. As technology advances, access control products seem to get more capabilities and features, but STI was able to keep this solution elegant and easy to use. Surveillance Technology is proud of their long-standing relationships in the access control industry and credits their distributor for helping them find this flawless fit for the Foundation’s needs.
