At Bay Pointe Nursing Pavilion, each resident is on a unique journey. Some are taking advantage of post-acute or rehabilitative programs, with a goal of transitioning from hospital to home. Others require long term care and benefit from the home-like environment Bay Pointe provides while offering skilled nursing, respite or palliative care.
To ensure the safety and security of its residents and patients, Bay Pointe Nursing Pavilion recently partnered with Surveillance Technology, Inc. to install a complete surveillance and access control system, empowering their staff to proactively manage security.
From a 28” 4K monitor inside, the Bay Pointe team can view real-time video from two turret-style cameras at the entrance, with 2.7mm – 13mm motorized, autofocus lenses. Fourteen additional cameras throughout the property with 2.8mm fixed lenses, offer broad views of the lobby, reception area, hallways, and nurses’ stations. Footage from all cameras is also recorded on a 16 channel H.265 4K DVR, which stores exponentially more data than its predecessors.
Beyond simple surveillance, Bay Pointe Nursing Pavilion has been outfitted with a 2-way video door phone system, giving staff convenient control of visitor access from either of two remote nurses’ stations. The system facilitates 2-way video and audio communication with guests at the main entrance, without removing the team from their areas of top priority.
Despite operating in vastly different industries, Surveillance Technology and Bay Pointe Nursing approach their clients’ needs in a similar fashion. They know an individualized plan and carefully coordinated services are the key to meeting the unique needs and goals of each client. This access control St Pete project was completed in March of 2020.
