In a 5 star Google review following their first project with Surveillance Technology, the Mahaffey Company said, “We look forward to their continued support and partnership.” And it didn’t take long to make that happen! Shortly thereafter, Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI) had an opportunity to provide a surveillance solution for Carlton Arms North. This country club style apartment community sits on 75 acres of peaceful woods, freshwater lakes, and the Hillsborough River.
The front guard house was the primary location for upgraded surveillance. STI installed a 8 channel H.265 4K DVR to support four license plate readers, which capture tags on incoming and outgoing vehicles. A bullet style camera provides a broad view of the entrance, while two turrets cover the exit lane and the guard’s interaction with residents and visitors. All of these 4K cameras use 2.7mm – 13mm motorized, autofocus lenses.
STI intended to simply replace the property’s older direct burial CCTV cable with new cabling, run through the property’s existing conduit. Upon starting the job, however, they found the prior installer had used plumbing pipes as conduit. This is problematic for future upgrades, because plumbing pipes use 90 degree turns, which can only be used at the time of original installation. New cable cannot be run through such sharp corners. The existing set up was not to code and prevented STI from upgrading the cabling without new conduit. As a result, they had to run all new conduit, which was unplanned. But STI is a full service provider with the resources and skill to fill a variety of client needs on demand. They were also flexible enough to accommodate a job that took 3 days instead of the expected 7 hours, to ensure it was done properly.
At Carlton Arms North, Surveillance Technology was able to integrate modern technology with the relaxing riverfront property draped in Spanish moss. They can do the same with your community.
