Bradenton, FL September 2020
At Casa Mora Rehabilitation and Extended Care, the focus is on efficient, compassionate care. To maintain this standard, the staff’s attention cannot be divided with security and surveillance monitoring. In September 2020 Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI) successfully integrated surveillance and access control solutions with the medical staff’s critical tasks of patient care. A two-way video door phone was installed at the main entrance, allowing the Casa Mora team to both see and talk to any visitors to the property. Arrivals can be monitored and admitted as appropriate from a desktop station in the administrator’s office, as well as from two nurses’ stations. A 7” color touch screen displays the video and audio feeds, along with a button to release the door so visitors can gain access. An expansion unit at the nurse’s station allows the patient care team members to quickly and easily assist with this task, without distracting them from the duty of care.
In addition to empowering the Casa Mora staff to make real time access decisions, STI installed a 16 channel H.265 4K DVR, along with16 cameras covering the common areas, hallways and various points of entry. Casa Mora provides more than just rehabilitative therapy on site. Patients here receive short- and long-term care through a variety of therapists, nurses and assistants, in addition to social and nutritional services and housekeeping. Such a wide variety of activities requires a customized surveillance package. A dozen of the new cameras have 2.7mm – 13mm motorized, autofocus lenses for tight shots where detail in a small area is desired. The other four cameras contain 2.8mm fixed lenses, ideal for broad views.
Tampa-based Surveillance Technology has offered surveillance and access control solutions to several similar providers in the greater Tampa Bay region, with great success in helping the staff uphold their security standards while remaining focused optimizing patient outcomes.
