Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI) frequently and proudly participates in bids for services. Homeowners’ associations and similar organizations want to move forward with confidence that they are getting the best value available from their chosen service provider. When directly compared to local and regional competitors, Surveillance Technology is rarely matched in their superior level of expertise.
The homeowners at Dockside Condos were price conscious going into a recent request for proposals. STI was recommended for inclusion by a prominent member of the board. In the end, Surveillance Technology’s submission outshone their competitors’ to such a degree that it justified proceeding with STI’s bid, despite it not being the lowest price. The solution was tailored to the community’s needs, including enrollment in an innovative program to mitigate obsolescence.
Traditional warranties cover surveillance equipment for three years on parts, two years on the hard drive, and one year on labor. Surveillance Technology’s obsolescence program augments coverage to bring all of these warranties to three years, bundling them together under one monthly lease payment. At the end of three years, if the client wants to renew their warranty coverage, they will receive all new equipment and the three-year term begins again. The client will have a similar payment but will always enjoy the latest technology under warranty. If the client is satisfied with their existing equipment and chooses not to renew their warranty at the end of three years, they can keep the equipment at no further cost.
At Dockside, STI installed a 16 channel H.265 4K DVR, viewable on a 43” 4K monitor. Given the community’s waterfront location on the Hillsborough River, the ability to observe wide areas, including a seawall and water line, is imperative. Three bullet cameras were installed in the parking lot, south field, and along the water, offering 24/7 color footage even in night vision mode. A larger camera with similar capabilities was installed on the north side of the property, which was particularly dark. The light provided by the surveillance system ensures Dockside will have a clear view of activity around the perimeter of the property, including the waterway.
STI replaced existing cables as part of this project, along with half a dozen old cameras. New cameras were installed to provide a clear view of all points of entry, as well as the elevator and lobby. Exterior surveillance includes the swimming pool, back patio, and seawall. The entrance gate is equipped with a license plate reader, while 4K cameras provide tight views on the call box.
