At Egret Cove Center, the focus is squarely on care. This assisted living community in St. Pete Beach prides itself on delivering personalized, comprehensive services to those in need. As part of providing a friendly and caring environment, Egret Cove has partnered with Surveillance Technology, Inc. to contribute to resident safety. Surveillance Technology (STI) recently installed a complete surveillance and access control system, empowering staff to proactively manage security.
From the first approach at the entrance, turret-style cameras with 2.7mm – 13mm motorized, autofocus lenses send tight, clear video directly to a 28” 4K monitor, where surveillance for the whole property can be monitored in real time. Once inside, fourteen additional cameras equipped with 2.8mm fixed lenses offer broader views of the lobby, reception area, hallways, and nurses’ stations. In addition to live monitoring capability, all footage is sent to a 16 channel H.265 4K DVR for future reference.
Simple surveillance alone was not sufficient to give the Egret Cove team control over the coming and going of its residents’ many visitors. STI also installed a video door phone system, which facilitates 2-way video communication with guests at the main entrance. Staff members can see and speak with visitors from the reception desk or from a nurses’ station, granting access remotely if appropriate.
