NAC Group, Inc. is a global provider of electronic component design services. The St. Pete based
company recently hired Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI) for a two-part installation of access
control and surveillance capabilities.
The initial installation added an access control request system to fifteen doors with recessed
and surface-mounted door strikes and card readers. NAC’s property now has two IP-based
access controllers. Here the potential entrant’s credentials are sent to the controller, which
sends approval to the point of entry. This system empowers management to control who has
access to specific areas and when. The system is database driven and maintains an event log, so
authorized personnel can review which credentials have been used at specific areas.
NAC maintains a variety of quality certifications, understanding the need to meet exacting
industry standards. STI similarly upholds safety standards with their equipment choices,
including 7,000’ of 18/6 shielded cable to ensure the access control signals are protected from
external interference. An Altronix power supply with fire alarm disconnect was chosen, which
will automatically open certain fire doors when the fire alarm control panel indicates a fire.
The second part of this project included two additional 16 channel H.265 4K DVRs, which record
seventeen turret style cameras for hallway monitoring and a bullet style camera covering each
of three entrances from the exterior. All of these are 4K cameras with motorized lenses. Lastly,
STI connected nine existing cameras to the new recorders.
