Four years ago, a resident of an affluent, waterfront neighborhood in Oldsmar, FL sought an installation of surveillance equipment, to deter vandalization of their property. STI gave them a quote for a solution at that time, but the homeowner went with another vendor. Unfortunately, the quality of that technology was ultimately inadequate to serve as evidence to law enforcement, so the client returned to STI for an upgrade.
STI installed seven new 4K Ultra Series Colormax cameras around the perimeter of the property. This system offers AI technology, including perimeter and object-left-behind detection, as well as facial recognition. A two-way audio feature allows the homeowner to use both pre-recorded and customizable messages advising trespassers to leave the property. The client is notified when an intruder has breached their property and can communicate live with the intruder from their phone, where they see crystal clear color images in real-time, day or night.
One additional 5 megapixel camera with a 5 – 50mm varifocal lens and ambient light offers tight shots up to 260’ feet away. The client’s boat dock is 200’ from the house, and this camera is able to offer clear and detailed color footage at this distance, even in night vision mode.
