Safety is front and center at Shooting Sports in Tampa, FL. The inherent risks of an indoor shooting range require an added level of vigilance and security, so they engaged the area’s top surveillance specialists when upgrading their system in the fall of 2020. Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI) enhanced the location’s old analog system with a hybrid DVR security system, which accommodate both analog and digital input from the new and old equipment.
While some existing cameras were retained, STI replaced 20 analog cameras with those offering 4K resolution. In particular, three bullet cameras offer 24/7 color capability, capturing color footage even in night vision mode. Nine turret style cameras have 2.8mm fixed lenses, while five bullet style and four turret style cameras use 2.7mm – 13mm motorized, autofocus lenses for tight shots. Footage is stored on two H.265 4K DVRs, one with 16 channels and the other with 8. The video feed can also be monitored in real time from the office and front of the house on two 28” 4K surveillance monitors, giving the Shooting Sports team a live view of the range at all times.
Shooting Sports provides a safe and friendly space for the entire family to enjoy rifle and handgun shooting. Surveillance Technology is proud to be part of ensuring the safety of its guests and staff.
