Southwest Florida Home Care is located in a single story office building of an upscale business park in northeast Tampa. Despite the desirable location, the surrounding area has experienced a recent increase in criminal activity; so this client contacted Surveillance Technology, Inc (STI) for advice and solutions to increase employee safety and comfort.
STI installed a door access control system for the business at the main entrance, including a mag lock with an access reader. Although the storefront door is clear and provides an unobstructed view of visitors, a new AI two-way audio phone allows the receptionist to speak to visitors and admit them from her desk.
Six 24/7 color cameras were added around the perimeter to capture color footage both day and night. Because Southwest Florida Home Care is on the end unit, this coverage includes the back, front, and west side of the building. They have loaded the surveillance software onto every employee’s computer, so employees can view the exterior of the property for themselves to ensure the parking area is clear before exiting the building. This client rents the property from a landlord, but still chose to invest in the cameras as a tenant. The property owners granted permission for the installation, as they have used STI for multiple other properties themselves.
