The campus of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Clearwater, FL is home to multiple buildings. Given the many uses of the property throughout the week, the church’s access control system must accommodate a complex, multiple-door schedule. Fortunately, Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI) is experienced with needs like this, where various groups require access to different rooms, which could change frequently and vary by the time of day, day of the week, or even seasons of the year. This Clearwater church relies on the security system to safeguard the congregation and protect the community.
The church’s previous access control system was piecemealed, cumbersome, and ineffective. STI was able to configure a system that empowers church leaders to manage user- and door-level access across multiple schedules. All doors across campus are now on a single unified platform for ease of use. Surveillance Tech replaced eight controllers campuswide including the main building, the cenacle, along with two buildings in the rear. Additionally, a new controller was added in the rear building office. At the entrance to the oratory, which is a small chapel for private worship, Surveillance Tech installed a keypad controlled by a code that can be given to parishioners who wish to pray after hours.
As part of this work, STI also had to clean up wiring that was previously unlabeled. As always, Surveillance Tech executed with excellence, having tested, toned, and labeled all new wiring. Hardware was replaced throughout, as needed. If the system you have in place today has evolved over time in a way that no longer serves you, now is the time to see what Surveillance Technology can do to simplify and modernize your solution.
