Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI) has provided surveillance and access solutions to franchisees in a variety of industries. When partnering with Talkin’ Tacos, Tampa Bay’s newest taco joint, STI learned the corporate office had a preference for using a Uniview platform, but no standard for equipment placement. As a result, Surveillance Tech could creatively design the installation to meet the location’s anticipated needs.
The first thing you’ll notice upon entering Talkin’ Tacos is the colorful, vibrant decor. A larger than life image of the iconic La Catrina overlooks the restaurant. Outside the property, color is a critical component of their surveillance system. The client opted for 24/7 color cameras, to provide color footage around the clock. A turret covers the front entrance, and a bullet camera at the back door monitors shipments, deliveries, and rear entries.
IP 4K quality cameras were used inside, including nine turrets covering common areas and one with 3X optical zoom for tight views on the entry door from the inside. In this instance, the design and installation occurred before the property was first occupied. Once in use, there were lessons learned about equipment placement and everyday operations. A few cameras were ultimately blocked from providing optimal angles, so Surveillance Tech returned to adjust these cameras.
Surveillance Technology is an ideal partner for fast-growing organizations. When expanding your geography, STI can support new locations outside Tampa Bay, leveraging what works at one location and tweaking what is needed to optimize every building thereafter. They confidently balance corporate standards of the franchisor with the on-site vision of the franchisee. Following this first installation, Talkin’ Tacos gave STI a 5 star Google review, citing the team’s professionalism and efficiency. They appreciated STI’s planning, which resulted in an economical installation without sacrificing quality, and intend to use Surveillance Tech to outfit future properties.
