The Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council specializes in planning for the community’s future, providing an opportunity for local governments across the Tampa Bay region to share solutions. They have provided critical programs to the six-county region for over 50 years, in the form of decision support, economic development, emergency management, environmental planning, and resiliency programs.
The Council operates from a property it owns in Pinellas Park, FL, which is partially occupied by a tenant, the Pace Center for Girls. Pace Pinellas provides counselling and education to girls involved in the juvenile justice system, at risk of dropping out of school, or facing other serious risks, in a supportive and nurturing environment that helps them grow and get their lives on a positive trajectory.
In November, 2019, the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council engaged Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI) to install a modern surveillance system for this Pinellas Park facility, including an 8-Channel 4K, UHD, H.265 compression DVR. Seven 4K, 8-megapixel cameras now provide tight views of all points of entry, as well as a broad view of the parking area. TBRPC’s mission is “to serve our citizens and member governments by providing a forum to foster communication, coordination, and collaboration in identifying and addressing issues and needs regionally.” Similarly, Surveillance Technology’s mission includes a consultative approach to protecting a client’s assets. STI was pleased to collaborate with the Council to provide a cost-effective surveillance solution to meet their unique needs of overseeing the community at large, and prioritizing the safety of the girls on their property.
