Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI) has developed a rewarding relationship with the Mahaffey family, owners of the many Carlton Arms apartment communities over the last year. The most recent project took place at their Lakeland community, known for offering resort-style, lakeside living.
STI equipped the community’s maintenance building with a 16 channel H.265 4K Hybrid DVR, which can accommodate new IP cameras alongside the building’s existing CCTV cameras. By offering hybrid capabilities, Surveillance Tech was able to seamlessly integrate modern security camera systems for this apartment complex in Lakeland. The client’s existing equipment was used, maintaining compatibility without adding unnecessary costs.
Five traditional 4K IR turrets were placed inside the storage areas, garage, and parts cage, with two 24/7 color bullets covering a rear storage courtyard. RV and boat storage is offered behind the building, where two 5 megapixel IP cameras now send footage via a wireless bridge back to the maintenance building. The bridge and a new POE switch required the installation of an enclosure on a light pole in the storage area.
24/7 color cameras were added to the main entrance, to capture color footage of all inbound and outbound traffic from both directions, even in night vision mode. Two tag readers were installed at the exit and another in the entrance lane, to document all visitors to the property. A turret style 4K camera with a varifocal lens is positioned behind the guard shack, offering broad views of the main clubhouse. Inside the clubhouse, a new 16 channel H.265 4K DVR records nine traditional IR turret style 4K cameras from the lobby, leasing office, gym, laundry room, and pool area. A second clubhouse has similar coverage, with five cameras in common areas leading to an 8 channel DVR.
The Lakeland location is the latest in a series of property upgrades, and is similar in nature to the work done at other Carlton properties in Tampa and Lutz. Surveillance Technology takes pride in repeat engagements and strives to deepen relationships over many years and multiple locations as clients grow.
