St. Pete Primary School is a faith-based private school in a highly desirable part of St Petersburg, directly adjacent to Vinoy Park and the Vinoy Resort & Golf Club. When it comes to ensuring the safety of their students and staff, St. Pete Primary School relies on the best security cameras for business, provided by Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI). The school is a repeat customer of Surveillance Technology, Inc. (STI), who previously re-cabled their wifi and installed a DVR with sixteen cameras. Following recent police activity in the area, which was unrelated to the school itself, there was a desire to elevate security on school property. Security cameras in schools are becoming more important than ever. During their most recent weeklong project, STI added two more 16 channel H.265 4K DVRs and eighteen cameras to cover every classroom and more of the playground and hallways. This resulted in complete coverage of the property’s perimeter and the entire interior of the school. In addition, they installed Cat 6 Ethernet cables to connect the school’s many smart boards and IP phones.
The building was further equipped with a 2-way intercom system, capable of generating a school-wide alert and initiating a lockdown, if necessary. Each classroom has 2 way communication, so teachers can talk back to the front office from their respective classrooms. The system includes twenty one speakers inside the building, along with 6 exterior speakers loud enough to be heard from the playground and surrounding areas. A Cyberdata Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) server is used to communicate between devices, creating a robust and well-connected ecosystem. The SIP Paging Server with Bell Scheduler is an excellent option for STI’s education clients, with a built-in calendar-based bell scheduler which enables secure scheduling of bells and prerecorded messages to be sent to different zones. The Grandstream solution employed here keeps the school secure, connected, and efficient.
